Stories of the Prophets

Course Overview

Allah Almighty says in His Holy Book:
“And We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the news of the messengers, in order to strengthen your heart with it. And We have brought you the truth and an admonition for the believers.” (Surah Hud 11:120)

This course invites you to explore selected stories of the Prophets as narrated in the Quran—the finest of humanity and models for faith and conduct. Through studying these stories and their meanings, your heart will find reassurance, patience, and motivation. The course aims to help you learn from the past, avoid mistakes made before, and embrace the truth with firm conviction that Islam is the victorious path, regardless of time.


Course Objectives

  • Strengthen a fundamental pillar of faith: belief in the messengers.

  • Understand the stories of the Prophets as presented in the Quran.

  • Reflect on the lessons, wisdom, and guidance derived from these stories.

  • Develop love and admiration for the Prophets and strive to follow their examples.

  • Build spiritual resilience through the inspiration drawn from these narratives.


Course Content

The course covers 15 stories of the Prophets, each explored through lessons focused on understanding and reflection. The average length per story is about two sessions, except for longer narratives such as that of Prophet Musa (Moses).

  1. The Story of Prophet Adam

    • Creation of humanity and the enmity with Iblis

    • Repentance of Adam

    • The first murder in human history

  2. The Story of Prophet Nuh (Noah)

    • The first act of disbelief by humanity

    • Building the Ark and salvation of the believers

  3. The Story of Prophet Hud

    • The trial of power

  4. The Story of Prophet Salih

    • Giants living in the mountains

    • Disbelief despite clear proof

  5. The Story of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham)

    • The trial of disbelief from his people and his approach to them

    • Calling people to worship stars

    • Deliverance from the fire

    • The great trial and building the Kaaba

  6. The Story of Prophet Lut (Lot)

    • Corruption of natural instinct

    • Punishment of the wicked

  7. The Story of Prophet Shu’ayb

    • The trial of wealth

  8. The Story of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph)

    • Glad tidings of prophethood and envy of brothers

    • Trials after salvation

    • Companions in prison

    • Vision that changes fate

    • Mercy of Yusuf

    • Fulfillment of the vision

  9. The Story of Prophet Ayyub (Job)

    • The trial of illness

  10. The Story of Prophet Yunus (Jonah)

    • Salvation from the belly of the whale

  11. The Story of Prophet Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron)

    • A tyrant protecting the Prophet

    • Escape from Egypt

    • Marriage and prophethood

    • Confrontation with Pharaoh

    • Destruction of oppressors

    • Persistent disbelief

    • Worship of the calf

    • Journey to understand destiny

  12. The Story of Prophet Dawud (David)

    • Victory after patience

    • A kingdom not inherited after him

  13. The Story of Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon)

    • The story of the ants

    • The believing hoopoe bird

    • Reward for leaving something for Allah

    • Solomon’s sacrifice of horses

  14. The Story of Prophet Zakariya (Zechariah)

    • A miraculous birth

    • The killing of the prophets

  15. The Story of Prophet Isa (Jesus)

    • Birth without a father

    • Speaking from the cradle and great miracles

    • Attempts to kill him
